Common Questions
What does Playlist Shift do?+−
Playlist Shift helps you copy playlists from one Apple Music account to another. It creates new playlists in the account you choose while leaving your original playlists unchanged.
Does Playlist Shift move or delete my original playlists?+−
No. Your original playlists are never moved, modified, or deleted. Playlist Shift reads the playlists you select and creates copies in another Apple Music account.
Do I need two Apple Music accounts?+−
Yes. Playlist Shift is designed for copying playlists from one Apple Music account to another. You connect the account you want to copy from first, then connect the account you want to copy to.
Is Playlist Shift only for Apple Music?+−
Yes. Playlist Shift is currently focused on Apple Music account-to-account playlist copying.
Copying Playlists
How do I copy a playlist?+−
Can I copy multiple playlists?+−
Free transfers include one playlist copy. Multi-Playlist Transfer lets you copy multiple playlists in the same transfer session.
Will copied playlists keep the same songs?+−
Playlist Shift copies the songs Apple Music makes available for the target account. Some tracks may vary between Apple Music libraries, regions, or accounts.
Can I review playlists before copying?+−
Yes. You select the playlists you want to copy before the copy process starts.
Will my playlist artwork copy too?+−
Playlist Shift displays custom playlist artwork from your source account during the copy process. However, Apple Music currently does not allow third-party apps to apply custom playlist artwork when creating playlists, so copied playlists will use Apple Music’s default generated artwork in the destination account. You can still update playlist artwork manually afterwards using the Apple Music app.
Can I copy playlists shared with me on Apple Music?+−
Yes. If a shared playlist has been added to your Apple Music library, Playlist Shift can create a separate copy in the target Apple Music account.
